Improved Cookstoves Cuts Fuel Consumption to Save Trees

UGANDA - Every year, a majority of households in Uganda consume wood-based fuels for cooking purposes. With only 18% of forest coverage left in this country, we can say there is an energy crisis on the near horizon if an alternative fuel isn't found or consumption of wood-based fuels are not reduced. Impact Carbon works with manufacturers of stoves that reduces charcoal and wood consumption by 50% or higher. While this doesn't provide an alternative energy solution, it does give Uganda time to find a cheap, clean energy solution to replace wood as a primary source of cooking energy.
