Getting to know consumers through kitchen surveys

KAMPALA, UGANDA – Impact Carbon conducted an extensive 100+ household kitchen survey in select parts of Kampala to determine household use of improved cookstoves. This monitoring survey gives us insight into important consumer behavior patterns, in particular how much charcoal is consumed to cook everyday meals and how much of monthly income is spent on cooking fuel.

Pictured: Noah Kirabo of Impact Carbon interviews Tumuhimbise Syfa who owns an EUF improved cookstove. Everyday, Syfa cooks three meals for her household of 6 people. Of her monthly salary of $116, she spends approximately 17% of it on cooking fuel.
