Micro-entrepreneurs finding business success with the help of their improved cookstoves

KAMPALA, UGANDA: In the middle of a residential area in the heart of Kampala, Rogers runs his own chapatti stall, serving hot chapattis with beans to hungry residents. Since beans take time to cook, he believes his business success comes from his AES improved cookstove, making it possible to cook beans quicker and cheaper than traditional methods. “Before I used 5,000 UGX ($1.50) of charcoal every day but I currently use 2,000 UGX ($0.60). This also helps me serve customers on time.”
