Traders Pride Restaurant (Kampala, Uganda)

Traders Pride restaurant is owned and operated by Miriam Bukenya and her family. The restaurant serves about 100 customers per day. Since switching over to improved cookstoves to cook meals for her clients, Miriam notes: “I have been able to save money on daily charcoal purchases, and grow my business.” Miriam previously spent 60,000UGX (15 Euros) on charcoal per day using unimproved stoves and now is only using half as much charcoal, and spending only 30,000Ugx (7.5 Euros) per day. Miriam owns 12 improved stoves supported by the project to keep up with her growing restaurant.
